We still have our electricity/telephone poles in place with their cut wires and today while I was washing up my eye was drawn to a light brown bird which circled and landed at the end of the garden. Having checked my photo I can see it's definitely a kestrel and according to the RSPB website: "
they can often be seen perched on a high tree branch, or on a telephone post or wire, on the look out for prey." Exactly so!
