Well no partridge in a pear tree but I feel these two were saying "well I'm sure they were taller posts last year". As you will see from the picture below they had to carry out their preening not on our tall supply poles but on these gateposts, with their rather reduced stature (sitting all of about 4 foot from the ground!)
