We've invited friends round to supper and I've planned a summery menu of lemon roast chicken, new potatoes and salad (with our own lettuce and radish). We sit outside but only briefly as the wind has a cold edge to it. Later the sky is amazingly clear and although it's still cold we all stand outside looking at the stars. Venus is especially dazzling.
