The kitchen garden is looking wonderful after all my labours. I was ready this morning to lift some more turf to make an area where we can plant fruit this autumn (blackcurrants, redcurrants, gooseberries, rhubarb and strawberries) but the ground is rock hard where it hasn't been watered so I will have to wait for the forecast rain to soften it up.
