I meant to watch birds today for the required hour for the Big Garden Birdwatch but somehow my time disappeared. However I did spot a young jay down by the raspberries and a rather naughtier bullfinch enjoying the emerging buds on our damson. I notice that neither feature amongst the 15 named birds on the RSPB checklist.
