November began in a rather dreary way here although the wind, which was totally absent yesterday, had returned enough to make it feel cold and to drive away most of the earlier fog. I decided it was definitely a soup day, so we had home made carrot and coriander soup with freshly baked rolls for a thoroughly cheering lunch.
