Gales

Today it really feels like winter. The wind is a southerly and is blowing so hard it is difficult to shut the front door. We need to buy more logs for the fire - but next year with the underfloor heating and the log burners we should be snug up here on our hill and well able to sit out the bleak weather.
Elsewhere the country is preparing for huge storms - we are glad that in the end we didn't buy in the south west - they have suffered the most from the rain this year. January has been the wettest month since records began.
