Preparing the ground
After the truly terrible weather yesterday - lashing rain and gales that caused us to have five power cuts today dawns bright and dry. I take advantage of this to start digging the area where I hope to plant some hazel bushes. Whilst unable to do anything on the farm yesterday I ordered 750 hedging plants but I feel their arrival will coincide with more terrible weather - the forecast is a months rain to fall between Friday and Saturday. In the foreground is an old stone post that we found lying in the ditch and we hope to put it up again but will need some help as it is extremely heavy.
