Laundry tips

More guests, more washing! Who knew I'd discover so much about laundry in just a few months. My top tips: although you need things to be damp to iron they must be bone dry before you try and put them on the bed or else the struggle to fit duvet covers and pillowcases ruins all your efforts at creating a smooth surface in the first place. Also if you turn the duvet cover inside out before you wash and iron it there's less opportunity for creasing. When you come to ironing take time to orientate yourself so you know which bit you are working on, this makes it is easier to give extra attention to the parts that show most, also if you iron the front face of a duvet cover the back will be fine without additional ironing. In the past I used to go round and round items finding odd bits I'd missed. Lastly always press Oxford Pillowcases from the outer edges inwards otherwise you get nasty creases and it's always important to smooth with your hands before you apply the heat from the iron!
