I bought a milking stool on eBay last night and took it outside to start stripping the dark lacquer off the wood. After about an hour a car pulled up, it was a man from the NFU who had come to see my cows! I pointed out that he may be a little premature and sent him in the direction of the other Hill Farm with its large milking herd! I'm sure that to the other farmers the sight of me with a milking stool would only confirm their thoughts that we are practising pre war methods here in every respect!
