Flaming June
Well June has arrived with truly terrible weather. We've had gales so strong that the plants are leaning, much of the white lilac is lying on the ground and the poor tender leaved plants such as my courgettes and squash look very sad. I tried to rescue broken off pieces of gooseberry in the hope I can get them to root. Back indoors I looked out and saw this sad pheasant with no tail - it was easy to think that that too may have been a victim of the wind, or maybe an encounter with the alpha pheasant from yesterdays post!
