Rural bliss

Tonight I went walking up to the top of our lane and coming home the scene was truly a rural dream, the sort of 'country living' I used to long for whilst working in London. The birds were singing, the cow parsley (despite the poor weather earlier this week) was looking wonderful and spread amongst it was lots of red campion, purple vetch and a small yellow flower I need to go and identify. The fields are full of buttercups and the sky full of swallows enjoying the summer evening. Today it's been hot although the wind is still here, but I guess it could be described as breezy. I love to think that for over two hundred years now people living at Hill Farm have enjoyed this view and the promise of early summer.
