We've begun to buy some furniture for our guest bedrooms. This wardrobe fitted our requirement for something that was low enough to get up our tricky stairs, and although not at all what we were originally looking for it seems to be full of character. The guy in the antique shop was about to strip it but I prefer it like this. It was made by Fred Smith and has his name inside! Apparently it came from a local (to Leek) farmhouse. The only problem is that it's on a crazy slant due to the sloping floor - another thing we'll have to sort out.
